Miranda Quast is new ED at Coles County Housing Authority

Miranda Quast has been chosen as the new Executive Director of the Coles County Housing Authority. Quast was chosen from a field of applicants that the Housing Authority Board of Commissioners committee had interviewed.

The Agency is managed by the Executive Director with 7 full time staff members. The primary objective of the Housing Authority of the County of Coles is to provide decent, safe and sanitary affordable housing.  "I'm looking forward to working with the residents to improve the quality of life and maintain housing developments that are financially viable, well-managed, with sound policies, rules and practices that treat employees and tenants with dignity, equality and respect. I want to thank the Housing Authority Board of Commissioners for entrusting me with its mission "Path to Tomorrow," Quast said.

Quast, of Mattoon, was the Administrative Assistant of the Housing Authority, where she analyzed the financial reports of the Authority, executed property program policies and procedures and assisted the staff in serving the needs of its Residents. She had previusly served in the Maintenance Department of the Housing Authority. 

The agency has been providing quality housing for the citizens of Coles County since 1973. Over the years, the organization has grown and developed to meet the changing needs of its residents. The Housing Auhtority of the County of Coles is governed by a Board of five Commissioners, including one resident of the Housing Authority.

Miranda has successfully completed several areas of study in Public Housing and soon will be certified in public housing management (PHM). According to the US Department of Urban Development (HUD), th Coles County Housing Authority is a small High Performing Housing Authority, serving 345 residents with 178 apartments.
